Year 3 School Council Election Results
In a special assembly today for Year 3, Mrs Maude announced the names of the children who will represent their class as part of the School Council. Congratulations and well done to those who were successful and all of those who participated.
Hello and welcome to our first homework blog. Every Thursday or Friday, your child will receive their homework, consisting of Maths, English, extra number facts work or times tables and spellings. These will be glued into their homework and spelling books. You will also find their TTRockstars details in the homework books. Their completed homework should be returned by the following Wednesday.

This week, instead of English we have set Science homework. Our topic is Food and Our Bodies and we have asked that the children keep a food diary over two days.

From September and in line with Government Guidance, we will be getting outside a lot more (in all sorts of weather conditions), this will include our PE lessons.
We will be asking the children to come into school on their PE days IN THEIR PE UNIFORM. (They will find out their PE days during the first week back). They will then stay in this for the day, so a change of clothes will not be needed in school. The main reason for this change is for safety reasons; it has been advised that we reduce the amount of belongings that are coming to and from each home and onto the school site.
For the older children, this change also comes about as there will be reduced space for them to change separately (boys and girls) due to them being in their class bubbles.
To make sure that the children are suitably dressed once the cooler weather sets in, we would like the children to have black jogging bottoms, a black hoody or sweatshirt and suitable outdoor footwear to wear alongside their usual white t-shirt and black shorts.

We know it might seem a little nerve wracking entering Key Stage 2 and Year 3, especially after lock down and not being in school for sometime. It is completely normal to feel a little worried! But we hope that by seeing who we are and hearing about us in this blog puts your mind at rest a little. We think that you’ll love being in Year 3 and we will have fun learning together?
Dear Year 3,
It has been a roller-coaster of a year and we realise how difficult things have been and that over the last few months, you have been unable to see or be with your friends. However, the Year 3 staff would like to take this opportunity to express how proud we are of each and every one of you and we cannot praise you enough for all of your hard work, both in and out of school. It has been a pleasure getting to know all of you and a privilege watching you learn and grow. We realise that some of you will be excited about moving on to Year 4 and some of you might be worried, but we have told the Year 4 teachers how wonderful you all are and that they are in for a treat!
To parents and carers, we truly appreciate how difficult it has been to find a balance between schooling, work and home life and we would like to thank you for all of your support during these uncertain times.
Have a wonderful summer holiday and don’t forget to visit us when we are all back together. Take care and stay safe.

Get Set 4 PE have organised a set of fun activities for schools to use as part of a Sports Day.
Those of you at home can take part too! Either do them all in a day or spread them out over the week.
Record your scores on the score sheet and email your results to your teacher.
The activities are differentiated for EYFS, KS1 and KS2.
If you’re at home and want your grown ups to take part too, then they should complete the activities that are aimed at KS2.
There are 7 games to complete, all of which can be found in the PowerPoint below.
