Puzzle Locker Ancient Greece

Year 6 took part in the most amazing experience – combining Augmented Reality and history. The children were extremely lucky to be able to explore the wonders of Ancient Greece in our school using a 360 degree game called Puzzle Locker. Working in groups, the children took on different roles to solve puzzles, collect objects and artefacts, as well as find clue words and answer bonus questions. Using an IPAD and a mat , the children literally stepped back in time to navigate ancient Greek temples and to learn about who the Greeks were, who Alexander the Great was and the lasting impact of the Ancient Greeks on the world today. The children were beyond excited and the added bonus of earning points, encouraged them even more. The gasps of wonder, the looks on their faces and their overall delight made it an experience they won’t ever forget.

“It was a fun experience that allowed us to all have go on it, which was really good. Ot was really educational and I learnt a lot”

Elodie

“I loved it as I learnt lots about Greece linked to our Discovery topic and I think all ages would enjoy it.”

Sofia

“It was really good searching for artefacts and things to solve different puzzles.  The different levels of bronze, silver and gold plus finding clue words made it even better.” Ethan

“It was brilliant to be able to explore Ancient Greece with a 360 view and after finding an artefact it gave an interesting fact. “

Thomas

“I loved working in a team to solve the puzzles and we all got a go at the different roles of collector, explorer and guide.  This made it really engaging and interactive. ”

MFL Warwick University European Day of Languages

On Friday 26th September 2025, Mrs Riley, MFL lead, took some of the Year 5 and 6 pupils to Warwick University to take part in the European Day of Languages.  This was an enrichment opportunity for pupils to further develop their Spanish skills.  The pupils took part in four activities: Flamenco dancing; learning about the historic story of Don Quixote; an escape room and a Spanish quiz.  It was a priviledge to take the Coundon Pupils on Friday who displayed their Spanish speaking skills throughout the day.  Well done Year 5 and 6.

Children’s Mile 2025

On Sunday 22nd June, Coundon Primary took part in yet another Children’s Mile and it was our best turn out for a while! As usual, there was a buzzing atmosphere as over 30 schools took part in this year’s mile (with over 1000 children and hundreds of adults running, too). We took along 35 children and 22 supporting adults/members of staff. All of our runners really pushed themselves to get around the course and they had a great time!

Here are our top 3 runners, well done Patrick, Ben and Elliot!

A big thank you to everyone who joined us whether you ran or supported from the side lines, your entry fee has gone towards a great cause! A huge thank you also to the staff who gave up their time on a Sunday morning, and of course to the organisers for putting on this event each year!
