New chapters have been released today!
Chapter 2 for ‘The Pampered Prince’, ‘The Last Guardian’ and ‘Cosmo Mars and the Vanishing Woman’ are available now. Log on to read, answer the quiz and vote for the next chapter.
The National Literacy Trust have put together a free online book called ‘The Book of Hopes.’ It is a compilation of short stories, pictures and poems from a range of famous authors. The book is dedicated to all NHS and staff working in hospitals. Click on the link below to read the book.
On Friday 1st May it will be Pyjamarama Day. The Book Trust would like you to celebrate the day with your family to read, carry out some fun reading activities and to stay in your pyjamas ALL DAY! Visit the Book Trust website below and have a go at the range of reading ideas and activities on offer. Let the Year 5 Team know what you think.
Over the Easter holidays, Charlie, his mum and his sister, Rachel carried out a fun science experiment- experimenting whether small objects in plastic Easter eggs will sink or float in water. They all had lots of fun making predictions and recording their results ?
It was the third ‘Teachers v Year 5 Pupils’ today. The winners were the teachers, but it was incredibly close and they only won by 37 points!!
Well done to all who took part, with a special mention to Navtej, Arjun and Tristan who were 1st, 2nd and 3rd most valuable players respectively.

Below you will find English, Maths and Creative Curriculum activities for the week.
For English and Maths there are now set activities to complete each day. On each Powerpoint (pdf also available) you will find slides that explain the learning for the day with important information and then your activity for the day (you may need to open the appropriate document from the list).
All of the activities can be completed in your exercise book and do not need to be printed.
Don’t forget to keep reading – there are some great books on Fiction Express and the next ‘Teacher v Pupils’ on TT Rockstars is Tuesday at 2:00pm!

The first document gives an explanation of all the activities linked to the Anglo-Saxons – creating a title page, timeline, exploring artefacts and maps and finding out more about them.
