Summer Holidays

Dear Year 5,
It has come to the end of the academic year and what a year it has been! It has definitely been unique. We are so proud of you and how resilient you have been through this challenging time. We have really missed you and can’t wait to see you in September – even if you won’t be in our classes. We know how hard some of you have worked and how difficult it has been for many of you (and your parents). We wanted to say well done and we hope you have a good summer holiday.
Over the summer holidays we will not be posting work on the blog. However, we would encourage you to follow our tips so that you are ready to come back in September…
TIP 1: If you haven’t completed this already; write a letter to your new teacher to tell them about yourself. Here are just some ideas to get you started: What are your likes and dislikes? What hobbies do you have? What do you enjoy at school? What are you looking forward to about coming back in September?
TIP 2: Read. Keep reading as much as you can. Read books from home. Read ‘Fiction Express’. Read magazines. There is so much research into the difference reading over the summer holiday can make!!
TIP 3: Keep practising your number skills. Play on TT Rockstars. Use some of the links to Maths Games websites from the blog to keep up your Maths skills.
TIP 4: Get outside. We hope that the weather is beautiful over the summer holiday and you can get out for walks, bike rides or even some runs.
TIP 5: Enjoy the break from school work and rest well.
