With the ongoing risk to schools closing due to the outbreak of Coronavirus, the Year 2 Staff have put a learning pack together for your child which can be completed in the event of closure. We fully acknowledge that they cannot replace the quality teaching that your child receives at school however our focus has been on creating a set of tasks that children can access, to maximise their learning whilst at home. If there are any tasks that your child particularly struggles with, then move onto another activity, make a note of this and school will address any misconceptions upon return.

Year 2 had a very exciting day on the above date. The children had the opportunity to dress up as someone from the 17th Century as part of their ‘Great Fire of London Day’. To add to the excitement we had a visit from the Fire Brigade to talk about Fire Safety and ‘firefighting in the past and present day’, followed by a re-enacting the Great Fire by setting the houses they had made for homework on fire. This was to demonstrate how quickly fire can spread. A fantastic time was had by all!
