A huge welcome to all of the children moving up to Year 2. What an exciting event! You are literally turning the corner and moving into a new corridor where many of the older children work! This shows you are growing up! I hope you are looking forward to it as much as we are!
Some of you have been in school in Year 1 bubbles and some of you have stayed at home. You might feel a little scared but that is ok because other children and even some of the grown ups feel a little scared too! We are all going to help each other get used to being back at school and I am sure we will all have lots of fun!
Underneath you will find a ‘Welcome Message’ from the Year 2 Staff. Look for the name of your teacher and then you will be able to remind yourself of what they look like! We look forward to meeting you all soon.
Alex’s Science work investigating Growth. Amazing results!
Lots of you enjoyed the Maths repeating shape pattern task!
It was lovely to see you having fun exploring the concept of seed dispersal in Science!
Super English work on based on the book ‘The Day the Crayons Quit’.

We have had a battle over the course of the week between the boys and girls with the boys winning this week. A lot of children tried really hard this week to try and achieve the win for their team. However, the teachers feel that a few children need a special mention:
Three new exciting books have been released on Fiction Express, Mayflower Stowaways, Pandora’s Box and The Mystery of Roanoke. Read the first chapter, answer the quiz and then vote for what you want to happen next. Please email your teacher if you have lost of forgotten your login details. Enjoy!
If you have requested a place then we are hoping to open to Reception only on Wednesday 3rd June, Reception and Year 1 on Thursday 4th and then Reception, Year 1 and Year 6 on Friday 5th June (see the timetable below). However, we are awaiting the approval of the school risk assessments.
Once the approval has been given and if you have requested a place for your child, then your child’s class teacher will ring earlier on in the week – to provide you with further information. This information will include which group your child will be in (referred to as ‘Bubble’), which adults they will be taught (and supported by) as well as arrival and departure times.
