Maths, English, Guided Reading and Phonics Home Learning WB:15.06.20

Happy Sunday everyone!

Here is the home learning for the next week 🙂

I just want to wish those of you returning to school this week a massive good luck, particularly those of you in 1KM. I’m sorry I am not there with you all this week, I would love nothing more than for us all to be back together in our classroom. However, I am pleased that some other teachers get to see how truly amazing each one of you are. Shine bright and be as amazing as I know you are. I am so lucky to have taught you brilliant children, and I cannot wait to see you all and to hear about all of your adventures that you have been on over the past couple of months.

Stay safe, missing you all!

Miss Masterson xx

This week’s Reading Home Learning is attached as a PDF file below. Here you will find the text ‘Explore a woodland habitat’ and a series of reading tasks related to the text. We have also launched ‘Fiction Express’ this week for our More Able Readers (see earlier post). Remember, if your child did not pass the Phonics Screening Test in Year 1, please focus on the Phonics PPT instead. The additional PDF file provides a selection of differentiated ‘Number the Events’ tasks (SATs style tasks) which you can choose from. There are 3 or 4 tasks provided for each level of ability Beginner, Easy or Tricky and these work in the same format as Clouds, Moon and Stars. Happy reading everyone!

But when they discover and open an ancient wooden chest, they find themselves in a very different Poros from the one they know and love. Instantly transported back to the world of ancient Greece, Alex, Christos and their new friend Phoebe must do the bidding of the goddess Hera to contain the evil they have released…

As well as the Fiction Express and BBC Bitesize options above you could try the comprehension questions below. They use the text ‘Victorious Vikings’ so you may know some of the answers already! Choose the level you feel most comfortable with and remember to add detail to your answers using examples from the text.
