We are so super proud of all of your hard work that you have been sending to us, Year 2. Last week these children really impressed us and therefore have been chosen as Star of the Week for their class. Brody McL (2AS) for a wonderful t-shirt design for Traction Man, using a variety of onomatopoeic words. Olivia S (2RM) for excellent presentation, especially her handwriting and Odysseas (2AD) for making a great effort in all curriculum areas. Well done to you all!
There was an amazing amount of work produced by 2AS again last week. It was lovely to see all your efforts across a range of subjects. Keep sending in your photographs. We love to see how hard you have all been working.

Grace G created her own Traction Girl story! First she made a plan and then she acted out scenes from her new story.
Sofia learned how to use the computer to record her Traction Man work. Well done!
This week’s book for Maths is Zog. This is a fantastic story and we hope you enjoy the activities on adding, subtracting, pattern and size. We have attached the link for the story on Youtube below and some songs to help practice skills such as doubling.

I have put the Maths, English, Phonics and Guided Reading PPT’s onto this post for you all. I hope all of those that went back to school last week have had an amazing. It was lovely to catch up with those of you who opted to stay home last week 🙂
Click on the eBooks link below. All books are free to access but you will need to register first. Click on the age range 5-6 or 6-7 and select a title. Talk to your child about why they choose that book. Encourage your child to make predictions on what the book might be about? -Ask questions about what the child has read? In stories, can they recall the main events? Can they discuss the characters and give reasons as to why characters behaved the way they did or why events happened, based on what they have read?
In this pack your child will have everything they need to continue their learning at home.

Weekly Spellings
Any sheets/resources needed are uploaded as separate documents. These can be printed but do not need to be, as all tasks can be completed in exercise books. Please also continue to access the websites given in the first post to supplement your child’s home learning and check the blog regularly for updates. We have also included spellings this week which you could ask your child to practise and then test them at the end of the week.
