W/C 16th October 2023

This week as part of our topic we will be comparing the Arctic and Antarctic and learning about the different animals that live in the two polar region. We will be doing some map work to locate them on a world map and learning where we live in relationship to them. In our continuous provision we will be writing fact files about our favourite Polar region animal. We will also completing our penguin artwork ready for the Art exhibition in November.

In Maths this week we will be focusing on our problem solving and reasoning when comparing numbers. We will consolidate our understanding of 1 more and 1 less in our continuous provision activities.

Don’t forget to access the Numbots app for Maths challenges.

Thank you for supporting your child with their reading and online work. We are so pleased that so many children are completing their homework.

The children have really enjoyed working on the star challenges this week. They have been keen to earn a Friday treat and work independently. We have seen some lovely written work about penguins. This week the children will be writing about the animals they saw at the zoo.

We will be conducting parent’s meetings on Monday and Wednesday after school.

Any queries you can contact us on our class emails.
