Year 5, as part of Local History Week, visited the Coventry Town Centre to compare old bomb sites with how it looks today. They visited the Herbert Art Gallery, where they had the opportunity to try an Anderson shelter and explore artefacts, readings and footage from World War 2. We finished the visit spending time in the old Coventry Cathedral – where we could clearly see a reminder of the bombing during the Coventry Blitz on 14th November 1940. In addition to this, the children also took part in a WOW day dressed as evacuees.
