Maths Photo Competition

During this week, your child has participated in maths activities related to Coventry, including its history.

As part of this, we are running a maths photo competition ‘Looking at Coventry Through Maths Eyes’. The aim of this is to help everyone realise that maths is all around us and our local environment is mathematically rich. Using the things around us is a superb way to engage your child in talking about maths.

Over half term, we would like you and your child to take a photo/snapshot of familiar things that capture some aspect of real-life mathematics in and around Coventry. We would like you to send your photo into us with a mathematical question (see examples below). There are prizes up for grabs!

Please send your ‘Looking at Coventry Through Maths Eyes’ photos/questions to Mrs Walton by Wednesday 1^st March to [email protected] Please state clearly your child’s name and class.

Year 6 VR Experience Day

On Friday 20th January 2023, the Year 6 children were very fortunate to have a virtual reality experience of volcanoes linked to their Discovery topic on natural disasters. It was delivered by Nick from Prime VR. It was certainly a great experience.

Code Club Fun

This week was the first week of Code Club for Year 6 after school. We made a great start on the coding: looking at how algorithms are built and the code behind them. We had to find the bugs in our code and then debug to get it working.

As an extra welcome treat to the club we ended with bit of fun using an app on the iPads to make a 3D model. Some worked well and you can see them below:
