Spring Growing
This week in Nursery we have talking about how our plants and flowers grow. We have explored the lifecycle of the Sunflower and all planted a Sunflower seed. We will be looking after them and ensuring they get lots of sun and water to help them grow. We will then send them home at Easter for you to look after at home.

Red Nose Day
On Friday we celebrated Red Nose Day in Nursery with non uniform, fancy dress or Red Nose attire. We had red water and had lots of fun.
Here are a few photos.

Week Beginning 22nd March
In phonics this week, we are recapping the digraphs we have been learning throughout the previous weeks and trying to put them into words and sentences. Our new learning will focus on the trigraphs ‘ear’ and ‘air’ and the digraph ‘er’. The children will practise writing their new sounds and thinking of words that have these sounds in them. We will also be having fun with our learning by playing some phonics games.

In maths this week, we are continuing with our consolidation of Spring learning. We will be focusing on the composition of 7 and 8, and the combining of two groups. We will be using building blocks, cubes and playing games to help us delve deeper into our learning. We will also be digging deeper, for the children who need it, by using extension activities.

In the wider curriculum, we will be introducing the story of Easter and why we celebrate it. We will be telling the story of how Jesus was resurrected and visited his friends before going to heaven. We will also discuss the different symbols that represent Easter. On Friday, we will learn about how hot cross buns are a symbol of Easter and letting the children try them.

Have a lovely week everybody!
