Microsoft Teams update week beginning 1.6.20

The Year 3 team are now back in school, training and getting everything ready for when certain year groups start back at school. Therefore, there will be no Teams on Monday. We will be back up and running on Tuesday 2nd. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Home Learning 1.6.20

Hello Year 4!  We hope that you and your family all had a wonderful half term and enjoyed the sunshine.  Did you do anything fun?  Remember to send us your pictures, videos and work and you could become the next Star of the week!   

The Year 4 team are now back in school, training and getting everything ready for when certain year groups start back at school this week. Therefore, there will be no Teams on Monday. We will be up and running with it again on Tuesday 2nd June. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Below you will find everything for this week’s learning. For English, Maths and Guided Reading there is an activity to be completed each day.  There is also work to be completed throughout the afternoons. We would like you to practise your spellings throughout the week (see below) and ask your grown up’s to test you on a Friday. Please continue to read at home and practise your times tables.

Please find below the PowerPoint for this week.  This week you will be continuing your learning on decimals.  You don’t need to print any of the resources but please record your learning in your book.  For some of the lessons, there are video tutorials to help develop your understanding of the skill.  If you have any questions, please email your teacher.  Below also find a copy of the PowerPoint containing the answers in red, please mark your work once you have completed it.

The lessons this week are all online through the Oak National Academy.  The PowerPoint contains the link for each daily lesson. These contain quizzes, videos and tasks.  Please record all of your work in your books.

Home Learning Pack 4

Home Learning Pack 4, Week 1 – Date set 1.6.20

In this pack your child will have everything they need to continue their learning at home. Attached is the following:

  • English powerpoint covering 5 lessons/days
  • Maths powerpoint covering 5 lessons/days
  • Guided reading powerpoint with 5 lessons/days
  • Science home learning tasks to last 5 lessons/days
  • Creative Curriculum home learning tasks to last 10 lessons/days
  • Spellings for this week
  • PSHE/PE home learning tasks to last 10 lessons/days

Any sheets/resources needed are uploaded as separate documents. These can be printed but do not need to be, as all tasks can be completed in exercise books. Please also continue to access the websites given in the first post to supplement your child’s home learning and check the blog regularly for updates. We have also included spellings this week which you could ask your child to practise and then test them at the end of the week.

Home Learning 1.6.20

Welcome back Year 6! We hope you had a lovely half term break and are ready to begin another week of hard work. Thank you to everyone who has sent examples of their work in, we would like to hear from more of you though so keep emailing it through to us please. We will still be on Microsoft Teams every morning from 10am-12pm to support you with any questions you have about your learning. Whether you are in school or at home you will have the same work to complete throughout the week and as before it will mostly be using Oak Academy and BBC Bitesize. We are trying to include a wide range of curriculum areas and we hope you enjoy it. Stay safe and keep in touch!

Spelling

For Spellings this week you can test your knowledge of the Year 5/6 words by being able to use them in context. Each page gets progressively harder from beginner through to genius! The answers follow each page but try not to cheat and aim to challenge yourselves!

Maths

For maths this week we would like you to revisit Fractions using BBC Bitesize. The focus will include simplifying, ordering, comparing and adding fractions.

Design and Technology

Learn about extreme designs and how they are tested, using elements of science and maths.

Art

In this lesson learn about how famous Portuguese artist Paula Rego uses her artworks to tell stories, learn some basic artistic techniques and create your own artwork.

Geography

Learn about the seven continents and five oceans of the world and how to map them using a globe and an atlas.

Science

In this lesson you will learn about mixing, dissolving and separation but also why different substances do different things when added to liquids.
