Keeping in touch…
As the plan for certain year groups to return to school this week has changed, the Year 2 staff will now be available to live chat with you for the rest of the week on the Microsoft TEAMS class groups, between 10 a.m. and 12 noon. We look forward to hearing from you and what you have been up to during the half term break. Teachers are still available via email too, to answer any questions that you may have regarding the home learning.
Home Learning 8.6.20
In this pack your child will have everything they need to continue their learning at home. Attached is the following:
- English powerpoint covering 5 lessons/days with links to the lessons on Oak National Academy.
- Maths powerpoint covering 5 lessons/days and answers.
- Guided reading powerpoint with 5 lessons/days
- Science home learning tasks to last 5 lessons/days
- Afternoon lessons including Creative Curriculum, Science, RE, Art/PSHE and ideas for PE.
- Spellings for this week with practise activities
Some sheets/resources are uploaded as separate documents. These can be printed but do not need to be, as all tasks can be completed in exercise books. Please also continue to access the websites given in the first post to supplement your child’s home learning and check the blog regularly for updates.
Don’t forget to continue to email us with examples of your child’s work each week, we really love hearing from them! ?

CSW Virtual School Games
CSW Virtual School Games – Tennis

The CSW Virtual School Games is an opportunity for pupils to engage in competition at home whilst still feeling part of their school team. All Competitions are open to pupils from KS1-KS4. Competitions will launch each Monday at 9:45am on Twitter (Danny Kingham @CGOCoventryWest) with entries closing at 1pm on Friday of the same week. You will have a week to practice and complete the challenges and enter the competitions through a Survey Monkey link. Results will be announced each Friday via the @ThinkActiveCSW Twitter page at 5pm. This week’s challenge is Tennis (see below)
Further information can be obtained from the Thinkactive website and results are recorded through Survey Monkey link (see below). Have a go at the Tennis challenge and remember to email some photographs of you taking part. Also remember to record and send your results by Friday 5th June at 1pm by the latest.

This week we would like you to continue with the Phonics, Maths and Curriculum work as you have done over the last few weeks.

Phase 5 extra challenge activities.
Maths this week will be a range of activities following the story ‘Snail and the whale’. We have included a link to the story if you haven’t got the book at home.
This week we would like you to look at what makes you unique. The power point offers good discussion points and some nice activities. You may wish to do some art work or sentence writing about what makes you unique. We would love to see photos!
We would also like to wish a happy birthday to the following children turning 5 in June: Thomas L, Poppy G, Lara, Violet, Freddie, Elodie, Tilly-Blue and Sofia- Rose.
Summer Term B
Good Morning Year 2! We hope you all had a lovely half term break and managed to enjoy some of the sunshine. As some year groups will be returning back to school later this week, all teachers will be in school on Monday and Tuesday and so unfortunately we are unable to live chat with you on Microsoft Teams. However, from Tuesday onwards there will always be a member of the Year 2 staff available to chat on the Year 2 group; please use the Year 2 group chat from now on.
