Well done to Simran, who has created a fantastic PowerPoint full of interesting facts about Fossils.

Ruby F has created this wonderful Egyptian poster full of fantastic facts and illustrations.

Serena has created an amazing front cover for chapter 3 of Harry Potter. Fantastic illustrations, Serena.

Lucy, Layla and Sophie have all written super setting descriptions of a stormy sea. Well done to you all. You have used powerful adjectives, ENPs and onomatopoeia to describe the destructive waves and weather.

Conor has created a wonderful cave painting and a character portrait of Hagrid. Great work Conor.

Layla has created this informative fact file about Mary Anning. I think we can all agree that the illustrations are beautiful!

Barnaby has found out some fun fossil and dinosaur facts. He has also included a super drawing of a fossil. Great work Barnaby.

Conor has created a super presentation about Mary Anning. Well done Conor, it’s clear that you have worked very hard on this.

Nizar has discovered this dinosaur tooth in his garden. Wow! A palaeontologist in the making!

Well done to Yasmine who has been working hard on her maths this week. We’re really impressed with your angles work, Yasmine.

Fantastic work from Immi, who has been busy writing her play-script. She has successfully used stage directions to make sure that each actor knows what they have to do.

Microsoft Teams

We have loved hearing from lots of the children on Microsoft Teams over the past few weeks and we appreciate that many of the children in our year group will not have spoken to their friends since the school closure in March, so we would like to let them know that we are opening up our general channel on Teams to allow the children to catch up with their friends from 11:40 – 12:00 Monday to Friday.

We do ask that the children only use the general channel during this time and respect that this is a provision that might have to be removed if it is used outside of these times. We will try our best to monitor the children’s conversations to ensure that this is a positive space for them to share their experiences and talk to their peers however we do ask that they follow the online safety rules we have previously spoken about and always speak to each other in a kind and respectful way.

We would also like to remind the children that they can email their work, any queries etc to our class email addresses and we will respond as soon as possible.

Stars of the Week!

Who are the shining STARS for this week?

WELL DONE!

Mr Scott, Miss Perrett and Mr Perkins certainly found it a challenge this week to nominate children who have been STARS this week. They have been so impressed with the positive attitude and work ethic. However, the children they have nominated are (see examples of their work below):

Owen for his wonderful poster on Viking longboats.  He took a conscientious approach and I am sure you would agree the outcome is wonderful !

Poppy E has worked hard throughout the week and produced an excellent piece of work based on her research and understanding about Viking Boats. The piece of work also included colons and semi-colons – an aspect of our English work this week.

Scarlett for a superb first week back in school and for her detailed and accurate drawing of a Viking long boat.

Work and Fun from 2AD!

Music

Musical Mash-up!

Tanishka completed the music homework last week where she composed a piece of music using sounds from everyday objects.

I spent the whole time trying to guess what each sound was made by! See how you get on…
