Afternoon subjects for week beginning 5/10/20
Last week your child brought home English, Maths and spellings homework.
Number Facts sheets.
You will find one of the following sheets glued into your child’s book.
This week in Phonics we are learning the phonemes i, n, m and d. The children will learn the name of each letter and the sound that the letter makes. We will focus on the formation of each letter, starting at the top of each letter and keeping our pen/ pencil on the page until the letter is formed.
In Maths we are looking at comparing size, mass and capacity and comparing amounts. You could make towers of Lego of different amounts, find things of different sizes and containers that hold different amounts. Can you put them in order?
We will continue with our learning on Autumn, looking at the other seasons and talking about the changes and the differences between the seasons.
Don’t forget to read your reading book each day. This week you will have a picture book that you should talk about with a grown up. Try to use the pictures to tell the story. Can you retell the story without the picture? talk about what you liked and disliked about the story. Have you done what is in the story or what would you have done if you were the character?
Keep practising writing your name at home please.
